While the mission was successful and without casualties, he was out of commission for a day or two afterwards to recover.ĭuring operations, Specialist Jack "Pulse" Estrada keeps his cool and consistently maintains sound judgement. Shortly after joining Nighthaven, Jack took part in an asset extraction mission. After leaving Rainbow, Jack was noted to have an increase to his performance, which Kali accredited to Jack breaking up with Imagawa and affirming his bisexuality. At the Invitational's conclusion, Jack and his teammates accepted Kali's offer to leave Rainbow and join Nighthaven. Jack returned to the tournament in early 2022 and was placed on Team Kali. He and his eventually made it to the finals but lost when Imagawa landed a critical shot on him that lead to her team's victory. In 2020, Jack participated in the first annual Tournament of Champions, also known as the Six Invitational. At some point he entered into a secret relationship with fellow Rainbow operative Yumiko "Hibana" Imagawa. Over the next few years, Jack participated in dozens of missions involving the White Masks and other terrorist organizations. In 2015, Jack and several other FBI SWAT agents were recruited into the revived Rainbow.
His position as lead negotiator and use of the Cardiac Sensor were pivitol to the mission's success. Jack's first known use of the Cardiac Sensor was during a hostage operation involving the rescue of a man named Michael Somerset.
His knowledge of behavioral biometrics let to the creation of the Cardiac Sensor, along with several other prototypes which he continues to refine. Estrada's high emotional intelligence led him to join the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) where he excelled in crisis management and negotiation tactics. In 2010, he secured his role as an agent and was soon recruited into FBI SWAT, working both in the field and in the FBI Lab. His focus on Forensic Science and Biochemistry made him a perfect fit for the Biometrics Program with the FBI, which he joined as their youngest intern in 2007. Jack demonstrated acumen for science at an early age and was quickly moved into an advanced curriculum. Jack would later grow a serious hatred for his father, seeing him as nothing but a sperm donor and opting to use his mother's surname.
He became adept at recognizing micro-expressions and delineating a person's history based on their speech patterns and physicality. Jack was raised on bases across the US and internationally, in Germany, Turkey, and Japan.Īs a result of the constant relocation from base to base, Jack was fascinated by the microscopic variances that comprise identity. His father, Mark Peterson, was a pilot in the RAF while his mother Cynthia Estrada was a classified Senior Intelligence Officer.
